Our kennel
..our first dachshund arrived to us in September 2001. Her name was Hubertus Fergy. Nowadays she is a real veteran in our backyard. We call her Fruzsina, it's a Hungarian girl name. On the first picture Fruzsina is on the left side stareing at the photographer, on the second picture she is the one licking her nose. Fruzsina is the dog I had most time to spend with and thus most of my dog related memories include her. Once we tried taking her to a dogshow and the referee said that she is a really promising young female. Encouraged by this we took her to several dogshows later and we achieved good performences with her. She won several titles here in Romania, but also abroad (for example she is the junior champion of three countries: Romania, Hungary and Rep. Moldova).
For two years time Fruzsina was the only dachshund in our backyard. During this time I had the opportunity to get to know her really well and to train her. She is very smart and she obays any command. Besides these qualities she is playful but sometimes she barks to much. She prefers digging in the yard to swimming. Nowadays she just likes to sit in the sun and have nice long naps. She still gets excited when we go for walks on the river bank.. That still remains one of her favourite activities. When she was young she tried to make friends with our giant schnauzers but that didn't really work out..
So my brother bought her a dachshund friend to play with. He bought another female dog from the kennel Hubertus. Her name is Irbis. In the first picture you can see her standing further right and on the second picture she is closest to the photorapher. Irbis has a different temperament. She is usually quiet and she is probably the best hunter from all of my dogs. In Szatmárnémeti she astounished everyone at a working exam when she acted like a real pro going after the fox in it's den. She is also very fond of water. She loves swimming and taking plastic bottles out of the water. Maybe she just likes keeping our countrie's rivers clean. Irbis was also very successful at dogshows (as an example she achieved a reserve junior best in show in our home town, Targu Mures).
They got along pretty well with Fruzsina, despite the fact that fruzsina was rather upset not having my undivided attention. Now we had two female dogs in our yard. It was now time to have a male dog, so together with my brother we decided to keep one of Fruzsina's puppies.
This is how we got to having three dogs. From a litter of six we chose Csibesz, or as he as called in his pedigree: Hubertus Lexi. We also call him Chosen One because of the way he got to stay with us. Csibesz means urchin in English, and this is exactly the way this dog is. From the beginning he was the only male dog in our backyard and that is why he is just like a little king. He is very lively, e is always occupied with something and if something happens he is sure to be there and assist. Due to his character he is a really good hunter. He is really protective of his "kingdom" and he doesn't let any other male dog inside. Csibesz is a talking dog. Sometimes he'll just sit right in front of me and bark his oppinion about different issues he's been having. His favourite activities are digging, swimming and of course going for walks on the river side, just like his mother. Csibesz behaved very well with the wild boar but he hesitated when he had to enter teh fox's den. He just stood at the entrance of the den and tried to prove us that he just doesn't fit in that small hole. This didn't work, because we all knew that before him a fox terrier has entered the den without any size issues
On dogshows he was also successful, for example he won the junior and the adult club competition also.
